What's Happening

If your reading this we are all in school. My teacher this year is Mr. Gatica. He speaks Spanish. He's even letting us start our own garden,so far it's doing good. Nothing has really changed at J.B.Sutton. Now that I'm in fifth grade I need to be way more responsible. The homework is a little bit harder but not really. Not that long ago, I learned power. Its really fun. Now we exchange classes at 2:00. that's all I really have to say till then do your best at school.

Crime and Punishment -Mr. Zahnd

I have been reading a novel called Crime and Punishment. I wanted to read this book for many years, but I never got around to it until now. It is a very interesting story by an author name Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The setting is Russia, during the 1800s. The main character is a man named Raskolnikov. It is fascinating, but also a little scary.

An Other Blog About You Guys

Before we start im sorry that it took more than one week to post its becuase lately I havent had time but lets get on with the blog. Mr.Zahnd posted a comment, and he said"Im studying french so i can be better at french." What I have to say about that is that it sound cool you must be proud of yourself. That also sounds awsome tell me how it turns out. Then Yudith said "What is the funniest thing you have ever watched." The funniest thing ive watched is the simspoms. Hi guys, did you know it rained yesterday, at night?It was cool and scary. It was cool because it hasn't rained in a long time and the rain drops came down hard,and it was scary because there was thunder and lightning.Also it was loud.(It rained somewhere around 10:00 or 11:00)

Studying French - Mr. Zahnd

At the beginning of this summer I decided that I wanted to improve my ability to speak and understand French. I learned French when I was in middle school and high school, but I stopped practicing, so I forgot some of what I knew. This summer I have been studying French almost every day. I found a website that has French lessons, which I have been reading. I have made flash cards to help me learn new vocabulary. Have you been studying any languages this summer? If you already know a language besides English, have you been speaking it with your family or friends? Using a language is probably the best way to improve your skills. Let me know what languages you have been studying.

Ancient Greek Civilization -Mr. Zahnd

This week I listened to a lecture about Ancient Greek civilization. I learned about some of the earliest people living in Greece. A society, who we now call the Minoans, lived on an island named Crete. Remember when we watched a video about the Minoans? Today, we know very little about the Minoans because we cannot read their writing. Archeologists learn about the Minoans by studying the objects that they made, like pots and paintings. Studying Ancient Greece is very interesting. -Mr. Zahnd

How Much I Miss School by richard

I miss school so much. I hope you guys are having a good time becuase summer is the best time to do it, but Im just saying im gonna miss all of my friends like Micheal, Edgar, Nathan and so on. So just try to have as much fun as you can. Im already having lots of fun. Not so long ago i went to Sadona. The water was cold, but it was lots of fun i went with my nephews Carlos and Amir. Carlos is there years old and Amir is only one. After that it was Amirs birthday hes now two. I also have great news my pinky is fixed. I can now move it fine. Trying New Foods

This summer I have been trying new foods, and I have been learning about lots of healthy food options. I went to a vegan restaurant, where the chefs did not use any meat or any foods that come from animals. For example, they do not use cheese, because cheese comes from milk from cows. They were able to make many delicious dishes without using animal products. They even made pizza. They used mushrooms, instead of cheese on the pizza. -Mr. Zahnd

They had lots of vegan cakes and cookies at the restaurant.

I went to the pool yesturday - melanie

I  went to the pool yesturday with my friends named Dana and Angela . It  was so so fun . They had a slide and bucets that dumps water on you it is fun . We went on the slide a lot and under the bucets. Then we went to the bigger pool and we jumped in to it a lot. Then it was time to go we were sad . When they took me home i took a shower and i saw that i got a suntan. The End 

Pesticides

I have been learning a lot about pesticides. Pesticides are chemicals that people use to kill annoying animals and plants. They can be helpful, when they are used carefully. They can get rid of insects and other creatures that cause people to get sick. However, often people do not use pesticides carefully. Sometimes they use too much, and sometimes they spray the pesticides places where they should not be. When this happens, the pesticides can damage nature, and they can make people sick. -Mr. Zahnd

What I saw on T.V by Nathan Echeverria

Today I was watching on T.V is this guy was going to cross the grand canyon and he had to grad a pole or hold I ment and he mad it .He had good luck and he mad it like 22 minuets and me and my dad got scared and it was just awesome and he had a lot of balents.

Clarence Earl Gideon

I am reading a book called Gideon's Trumpet. It is a nonfiction book about a man named Clarence Earl Gideon. In the 1960s, he was found guilty of theft and he went to prison. He did not believe this was just, because during his trial he had not had help from a lawyer. He was too poor to hire a lawyer, but he believed that if a lawyer had assisted him, he would have been able to prove that he was innocent. He said that if a person cannot afford a lawyer, the court should give that person a lawyer for free. He explained his beliefs to the Supreme Court, the most important court in the United States. They said he was right. Now all people have the right to a lawyer, if they are accused of a crime, no matter how much money they have. This book is fascinating. Do you think Gideon was right? The Constitution

As many of you know, I am still in school, just like you. I just finished a class about the United States Constitution. The Constitution is a text that explains the basic laws in our nation. Remember when we learned about  state and federal governments? That information came from the Constitution.

In the class I was taking, I learned a lot about the Constitution. The Constitution was written by many interesting people, like Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and James Madison. -Mr. Zahnd

ALL ABOUT THE GRAND CANYON BY LEXA

I'am going to talk about the Grand Canyon  and because thats what I learned today the first thing that I learned was is the most visited national parks in the United States more then 5 million people from all over Amaeica and more then 120 countries come to Arizona to enjoy its beauty every year . The canyon is  277 miles long, 600 feet to 18 miles wide, and in some places more then a mile deep! It has been called '' a mountain range in a ditch'', and it is hard to believe that the Colorado river - which runs though it -is responsible for creating this spectacular chasm carved by erosion over millons and millons of years. The average visitor spends only 3 to 4 hours in this natural wonder .As did the famous artist thomas moran (1837_1926) more then 120 years ago. In a time before color photography, the rocks that he painted are 250 millon years old. and there are wildflowers and there red and the they were so pretty

I miss school so much i hope to see all of you in school next year. I miss all my class mates and my best friends , rosa jewel and nadien and all my other friends and all the teachers. It was fun last year and i think we all have good memories of each other.

Summer Begins

I'm so glad to see all the wonderful posts that you wrote on this blog already. Keep up the great work! One person already wrote about what they are reading. If you are reading an interesting book, make sure to write about it on our blog! I am reading a book about the history of ancient Rome right now. It is very interesting, but it is also a little difficult. I have to look up a lot of the words in the dictionary. It just goes to show that there is always more to learn! -Mr. Zahnd

im gonna miss school and friends

I'm gonna miss my school, all of my classmates and friends. I'm gonna miss my teacher cause my favorite teacher was Mr.Zahnd he would never yell at us he would just tell to hold each other accountable. He would never be mean sure we would make him disappointed, but he would  never yell at us. I'm gonna miss my school because it was fun we would have lots of fun at school people would zoom to the swings, monkey bars, and basketball court. My favorite part was the soccer field i love soccer. Now the the thing i'm gonna miss the most is my friends and classmates my friends would always cheer me up when i'm felling down or under the weather. My classmates would  help me when I never got it. I'll miss you all of you that I know like   Micheal, Edgar, Nathan, Jose, Martin, Jorge and  Albert from my class. S o if you miss someone remember the great times you both had with each other. You might not know you might see me or them in fifth grade.
